What are they talking about? Do they mean that once you roll the jack under your car that it only takes 1 pump to get the pad from the resting position to the spot where you want to lift from?

Yes, Their is usualy a pedal that on some or the main hydralic lever on other models that allows you to raise it to the lift point in one stroke! I am sure you have owned one before that took 8 million strokes just to get the lifting cap up to the lift point!

Yes! I've got one right now that's like that!

I have one like that from costco. Nothing really special, it just has two hydraulic pumps in it. One high volume low pressure that lifts quickly then bypasses with a load. The other is low volume with high pressure to do the actual lifting of the load. Once you start lifting the load, you can hear the low pressure pump bypassing, it kind of squeels. It also has a foot pump (just for the low pressure pump).

That's good info Todd - thanks!

I don't think I would be needing a foot pedal being as I'm always lying on the floor when I'm trying to line up the jack pad with the chosen lift point.

I need one of those. Really, I need a jack that can actually touch my frame. I bought a decent Craftsman set a couple years ago because it was on sale, but the jack can't lift my truck by the frame, only by the suspension.
