Lifetime Oil Filters

What do you all think about the oil filters that are cleanable, reusable, and supposedly last the lifetime of the vehicle? They are usually stainless steel with a Stainless steel media. You can clean them with Carb Cleaner or Brake Cleaner. My guess is you could probably use any type of degreaser. I found a link to describing what i'm talking about:

No reviewer knew what the heck they were talking about..they were all "doe eyed" cause it was shiny
