i dont think the ford van would be burning much oil if he had changed oil more often

I saw a lot of Toyotas and Hondas used by couriers, that had 400k+ miles. Lots of other stuff on them was broken, but the engines were still turning over and the drivers were able to make the argument that they were still worth fixing and driving.

If I was going to spend 8 or 10 hours a day behind the wheel, I'd want more than the most basic of transportation. A little style, a little performance, a few amenities.

Find out if he used fram oil filters, if he did that will open up another can of worms.
