07 Pontiac G6 V6. Washed and waxed it the day before but it rained earlier the next day. This was taken at work.

To you they are a beater,to us it's a dunger (POS).I'm putting the NX Coupe back on the road...and have finally put in my name,so it's legal...sort of.There is a story about it - it came into my shop for repair, but the cracked head was too expensive to replace,so the owner left it with me,saying I could have it.So it sat around for a couple of months until one of my daughters wanted another car,so put an engine into it and made it a runner. When I asked the owner to come down and sign the ownership over,he told me there was money owing on it - $4,000,and it wasn't worth $800 on a rainy night. But he was still making payments...for awhile. Then his ex came and told me he had done a runner to Aust.I got hold of the finance company and told them if they wanted it I'd pull the engine and push it out on the road, they could pick it up from the council lockup. They didn't want it as they are in the South Island,so released it to me....but the debt remained on the vehicle. That was over 4 years ago.

I've been using it all that time under his name - obviously speeding and parking tickets were of no concern to me.Both my daughters have used it for periods of time, and it was loaned to one of their friends for about 6 months.I used to park it in the city with the targa roof out, just walk away, with my phone in my pocket in case it wasn't there when I returned.

My Pajero has become to expensive to keep registered when it sits on the lawn all week, and I'll drive it 2km to the lake for a walk on sunday. The NX Coupe has been sitting in my daughters back yard for 6 months....an old battery fitted and it fired up instantly. What a horrible little car,but it's all I need.

And a photo of the Pajero soon to go.

This one refuses to die, and its never had a mechanical failure at an event.

Uummm....that passed a safety/tech inspection?

Or is your group 'anything goes'?

Seat belts, brakes, and fuel lines are good, no oil leaks worse than seepage, suspension and steering are tight so its good to go! And it has no significant structural rust.
A couple guys race circle track and have a good eye for what's likely to fail out there. Knock on wood but the thing doesn't ever have a problem.

Yep, its just about 2/3 the weight of the Lotus, but has maybe 1/3 the hp... Most of our courses have maybe 100' where the Lotus can go WO so the extra hp isn't that much of an advantage. Also the Lotus owner just isn't that great at autocross...
I went for a ride with him on our recent track day and he seems alot more comfortable doing that, and leaves quite a bit of room for error, which is a great idea just doing lapping in a $60k car, but you can't do that in autocross and get a decent time.
The Lotus is terrifying to be a passenger in though, and makes the run off areas seem very very small with the speed it carries into the corners. Plus I wasn't totally confident he knew what he's doing to start but after a few laps he seemed consistent enough. I'm sure I could've scared him to death in my Neon as it seems to have maximum grip at double the slip angles as the Lotus, which almost feels like a slot car.
