Lets see most popular: Your (5) favorite autos of all time. Owned or coveted/wished your had at one time.

Nice. A straight axle Stude Gasser it looks like. I bet that thing would rattle ones teeth going down the strip!
I like your Tempest color scheme. My 2nd Chevelle was a very similar GM factory paint color like that with a half white top.
You ever saw or heard of the Tempest OHV-Six? Called the Tempest Sprint. Those were sweet and ahead of their time. Pontiac even put some of those OHV-Six (belt driven timing) in some early Firebirds. I saw one with the side mount Webber carbs under the hood in a car show photo. Super rare for sure.
OHC. Overhead Cam. At the time all US 6s were OHV.
AMC had just stopped making their flat head 6 in 65.

OMG... mine are so far off of the radar. And more than five.

BITOG gods: forgive me.

There are more than five but they don't have HP, speed or style as the hook, really.
Strange, off beat, misfit, ultra simple or basic. I don't know, they just grab me.

Several tiers:
'50s:
56 Hudson with "Vee-Line Styling"
57 Nash
57 Studebaker Scotsman
57 Packard Clipper
59 Studebaker Lark
Second Tier:
58 Rambler American
53 Henry J
54 Willys Aero
54 Kaiser Manhattan
55 Hudson

60s:
60 Comet
60 Rambler
60 Corvair
60 Valiant
60 Falcon

I've owned a 63 Valiant Signet for many years. Otherwise it would be on the list.

Second tier choices would be: 61 Mercury Monterey, 60 Edsel, 61 Tempest with slant 4, 61 Buick Skylark. 61 Olds F-85. Any VW Bug.

70s pickings are slim:
76 Pontiac Sunbird v6 [or wait till 77 for the Iron Duke] 2 door notchback.
71 AMC Gremlin
71-74 Hornet AMC Sportabout
78 AMC Concord
71 Mercury Comet

Second tier, I wouldn't kick any of these out of my driveway:
70-72 Ambassador
Any A Body Dart, Valiant, Coronet or Satellite with Slant Six
78 Chrysler LeBaron
79 Mustang, 4 or 6 [and I hated them at the time, go figure]
75 Datsun B-210 four door
71 Audi 100 [still beautiful]
70s Volvo 240 [gorgeous today compared to the tortured sheet metal, dumpy shapes and grimacing angry grilles]. I never appreciated them when they were no. Apologies to Volvo.

80s:
84 Citation notchback [right? I know all the lore, I had one and loved it. I'd love another one]
88 Cadillac Coupe DeVille
80 Olds Omega
The 85-86 Olds Calais would be on the list but I already have one.
Can't even find five from the 80s.

All from the Isle of Misfit Cars, folks.

Yes, I do ask myself, how did I get to this state??? I genuinely love them for what they represent and their back stories in the automotive timelines of the periods. They represent more than just the cars. Something like the Scotsman and bare bones basic cars represent an entire philosophy about personal finance. So many aspects.

I wish I could gin up more excitement about muscle cars and exotic stuff. That's just not where the ball landed on the wheel. All personal favorites, no shade thrown. I'd choose these cars with a lottery win.
Starting with a 1960 Comet: my ultimate dream car. The top choice from all of these.

OP: great thread.

LoL. One of those cases...... OHC on the brain and OHV gets typed out. Good thing I do not get paid to type for anyone. Those were some really interesting engines. I just saw some photos of one that was rebuilt to be placed back into a Pontiac Firebird it came with. Four barrel carb was installed on it from the factory. I think it was also one of the first "belt drive" engines made in USA.

1 - 1979 Hurst/Olds W-30
2 - 1961 Willys Wagon
3 - 1967 Olds 442 W-30 Sport Coupe
4 - 1965 Volvo B18 PV544 Sport
5 - 1970 Olds W-31

Dream car for me. Dream because I’ll never be able to afford one.
LIke that one a lot. I realize I have not seen many in the rag top form. A color by GM I am not very familiar with too. Along with the white top it is very neat looking. Of the tri-fives, and I like them all. I could be very satisfied with any of them. Either 1955, 1956 or 1957 model.

My top 5 excluding what I have owned:
300m these packed the perfect blend of comfort, handling luxury, practicality, and the power for a daily driver. A relative owned one and I loved it. I had a LHS which is larger but I preferred the 300M but never purchased one.
Dodge Stealth: One of my favorite styled coupes from the 90s and liked the handling and comfort level but I couldn't get past the fact that it was a Mitsubishi
69 Dodge Charger: never driven. Just a dream
Lincoln Mark VIII: driven Cougars and Thunderbird and liked them. Having the 4 valve modular, an upgraded interior, and styling fits my taste but could not justify it to myself.
2nd generation Taurus SHO manual: a relative owned an automatic version when they were new. It was an exciting car when your immediate family had a Dodge Dynasty and k engine powered Caravan with A413 transmission. Never lost my interest in these but I can't justify it especially not that they are so old now.

Trucks/SUVs/Minivans
94-01 Ram 2500 V10 my neighbor had one of these. I loved the big rig styling combined with the instant torque. The fuel economy is precisely why I never bought one and my back is why I never will.
99-04 Grand Cherokee: the most comfortable SUV I ever sat in and excellent styling. But I prefer cars.
97-04 Dakota: love the baby ram styling, the ability to get various sized V8s and interior but I prefer cars
XJ Cherokee 4.0 I6: who doesn't love these? Classic styling, comfortable, and capable. But I prefer cars
96-00 Town and Country: This version has some of the most comfortable seats. When you have to go on several hours trips to visit family and need cargo room, if you are going to be riding in minivan regardless you at least want it to be the best at what a minivan does well.

Guilty pleasures:
90-93 Chrysler New Yorker 5th Avenue I love those seats and I have an appreciation for more traditional styling from the malaise era.
Early 90s round body Oldsmobile 98 with original Touring Edition interior. Not the biggest fan of the exterior but I love the interior . A bit guilty because I am not a GM fan
80s Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham love it inside and out. A relative had one of these back in the day. A bit guilty because I am not a GM fan
99 Toyota Solara: I didn't want to admit back in the day how much I liked these (I have relatives who work for one of the big three) but today I am fine with admitting it. I thought this was one of the best styled Toyotas.
Last generation Accord coupe similar thoughts and reasons as the solara. I really liked the car but I wasn't ready to face angry relatives at that time. I also couldn't stand the name Earth dreams for the engine.

Ones that I tried and lost interest in:
5th generation Trans Am test drove ( in fairness it was an automatic it felt unresponsive. I preferred the 3rd generation that I drove)
99 Mercedes SL500. Relative owned Bad seats not my taste in luxury.
13-18 ES 350: owned and glad to be rid of it bad seats and mine could school the Titanic on how to leak
