So I have a sirius plug and play unit in my saturn.
It is powered by plugging into the cigarette lighter. I recently leaned on the power connector, and broke not only the sirius power adapter, but the cigarette lighter itself also.
The saturn has two outlets, so I decided just to use the other one.
I was looking all over, and no one had a replacement adapter for this sirius unit, because its a 5v unit, not 12v.
Sirius wanted 19.99 plus shipping for a replacement unit, which is a ripoff, as the whole sirius system was purchased for 39 dollars I think when it was new.
I found this outfit on ebay that makes custom cigarette lighter adapters for many electronics, with glowing feedback.
Anyways, I bought one from this guy, it works great, except the adapter has a little green LED that lights up whenever the unit is plugged into the cigarette lighter.
If I leave this thing plugged in all the time, will it drain the battery, or am I just crazy?
I've had it left plugged in for about a week, and no ill effects. Its not powering the sirius unit, I make sure thats off, but it is drawing enough power to light the little led light..
Thanks,
Justin
