Leave it running or turn it off?

Living in Florida you learn to leave the car running, heck I even have a separate key so I can leave the car running with the A/C on, get out, lock it and walk away...
Seriously, there's days when if you leave your car with the A/C off for ONE minute, it's an oven in there, even with dark tint all around including the windshield.

If it is 10 minutes or less I leave it running even in the winter..I hate a hot car..I just use the key code on the door to get back in it.

For an older vehicle without fuel injection, etc, I would let it idle for a few minutes... Newer 90's plus vehicles should be turned off if idling more then 30 seconds. Just my opinion... Startup on older vehicles can pass a lot of fuel into the oil.

What do you do at a long traffic light, say one minute long, shut the engine off? Letting an engine idle for more than 30 seconds isn't going to hurt it. If it is I ruined a lot of engines in my day, which dates back to engines from the 1960's, 70's, 80's, 90's, up until 2008.

Under those conditions, other than a little extra starter wear if you shut it off, it really shouldn't matter. Do whichever is easier.
