Thoughts? They aren't a sponsor, and the site shouldn't be posted.

Best is if you place your post in "additives" and write a little blurb about the products, your questions, experience, ect.....

Posting a link to a manufacturer's site is okay so long as the manufacturer doesn't do online retail sales from that site. That's why posting to Valvoline's site, Mobil's site, Amsoil's site, etc. is okay.

There website shows tests they have run with "Mobile 1". Makes one feel real confident in their data. Maybe someday one of their employees will go to their own website. Could it be that their ol engunear has never met the other employee in the company that sells the stuff.

Maybe its just me, but there is no real technical data on the website...I don't consider the timkin or four-ball tests against "unknown" other oils to be worth much.

First of all, site sponsor or no site sponsor, all the new member was asking were thoughts/comments/concerns with eh actual product line itself. I don't think that an intended sales pitch or link to their website for selling was the issue at all.

Second, I'm tired of all of the touting of Amsoil, PP, GC, Mobil 1, Valvoline, Havoline, Royal Purple, Red Line, etc., and then when someone comes along (including me) with an off brand, boutique, gourmet, bottom basement, bargain, or not so widely sold brand, instead of commenting on it, or finding out about it, everyone is ready to condemn it to h-e-l-l, just because it is something different, unique, maybe not so special, but not the ordinary lubricant on the every parts store in the US shelf.

I've asked the same types of questions in my earlier days here, and everyone that posted (for the most part) either had something positive, negative, or indifferent to say about that particular oil's properties, good points, bad points, whatever.

We are here to discuss, learn, debate, maybe even fight about which brand is better than my brand, but we have to let the newer members post their questions as well, even if to us they feel stupid, inferior, not worth asking, and yes, even if they've already been asked before. There are so many topics on this site that it would take that once in a blue moon member months, if not years, to go through them all, just to find out if the question that they would like to ask, has been asked. I try to watch when I start a topic to see if it has been discussed, but I'm sure that I've done it.

Sorry if this post comes off as sounding superior, better than you, not worth my time, or however you might view it, but my intention is to just say this: let's keep asking questions and enjoy reading the information, and finding out answers...together.

I am not the greatest speller in the world and I really need a spell check program. I think I spell pretty well but I do occasionally make mistakes.

I do have a problem however with websites that are supposed to be professional and put up by some company trying to do business with people where there are a lot of spelling errors. It is jarring to be visiting what is supposed to be a professional business website and you come across obvious spelling errors like 'Mobile' rather than Mobil. How could anybody make a mistake like that in the case of one of the most known corporations and one of the most known products around? Who develops their website? To save money do they outsource their website development offshore to some company in some country where English is not the first language?

My first reaction when I come across websites where people cannot even spell correctly is to not buy the product. Even people involved in internet fraud nowadays can usually develop websites where there is proper English and proper spelling. It used to be one of the best ways to spot the fraud sites was because of all of the poor spelling, etc.

If the people who develop fraud websites can achieve proper spelling, why can't a business achieve it?

Dad2leia,

So where's your review of their products since you complained about no one else providing a review.

My review of the site is that it's a bunch of baloney as 2 others have already pointed out. For their 'technical' portion of the website you have dyno testing to 'prove' their stuff is good. You also have 'tests'. The last chart on that page is titled LONGER OIL LIFE Severe Oxidation Test but doesn't list any ASTM #. The other tests by themselves tell nothing about the oil. They claim "substantially longer lubrication intervals" but compared to what & exactly what is their recommended OCI? They don't say.

I do understand you POV of trying to look at other relatively unknown products but there are so many out there that are simply scams. So, sitting around the campfire & singing Koom-by-ya while discussing the merits of every oil ain't the real world with every schmuck trying to get rich selling snake oil.

I understand - but this site does online sales. It's a tough line to draw, though.

I didn't realize that. I thought it was simply a manufacturer's site.

Dad2leia, well said. G-Man, I don't think it will be any difference whether there is a link or not. Those interested in the product will just do a search anyway.

And, now I have ordered one bottle for the fuelsystem. Wasn't hard at all. Who knows, maybe it is working, also.

benjamming, I don't have a review to give. My point was just not to condemn the product based solely on the fact that it is not the mainstream line, that's all.

I don understand site sponsors not wanting websites that you can directly purchase products on just floating around when they put their hard earned cash into this website, and deservedly so, should get first crack at a transaction, but to start right off the bat complaining about a link, when I'm sure the member was only interested in opinions about the product, is taking it a little personal a little fast.
