LC in gas tank

Got an email from Mark, one of Odis' main dudes, saying every 10 (or so) tanks run LC @ 1oz/5 gal fuel. Golly, I was a bit surprised and wanted a BITOG second opinion.
Search yielded Terry posting 'The LC really is not formulated for fuel...' and Rugerman1 posting
'LC in fuel is acceptable.
In a gas engine, I noticed reduced fuel economy with LC instead of FP in the gas.A friend used LC in his diesel fuel and was floored by the increase in mpg/power he saw.
Don't put FP in your crankcase.'

My questions: Can, or should, LC be mixed with anything else (FP, premium gas, Techron)? Is it best if used specifically all by itself and only once every 10 or so tanks?
Any dosage or other precautions or notes if it is being added to gasohol?
Is part of the reason for LC in the gas as an UCL?

Hey, did you hear about the Canadian that went to California to study Upper Cylinder Lubricants?
The course was at UCL, eh?

Rob, if confused I would hope you go to the source and not a message board for a shot- gun approach to the answer you seek.

It also confuses people to read stuff like this.

Odis knows LC and FP better than anyone alive not to mention the formulas. I suggest you ask him.

Dyson Analysis advice stands.

FP for fuel side, LC for non fuel side. Excepting for diesels as a
1 time LC 1 ounce to 5 gallons dose for a heavily sooted diesel "shock" dose.

First: My apologies for causing any confusion.
I spoke with Odis, and got some email clarification from Terry. Perhaps I mis-conveyed what was perhaps mis-understood by me

I hope the folowing helps clarify:
Suggested once in about 10 tankfulls.
Recommended not to exceed 1 oz per 10 gallons unless you have spoken to Odis and clarified your specific application, then MAYBE more.
Not to be used with any other additive, not even FP.
The above, too, is subject to error on my part. What is a LOT less likely to be in error is that Terry and Odis know a LOT more about it than me.
This posting concerns MY (gasoline) engine; I didn't speak of Diesels at all.
FWIW I am on a post-Auto-RX rinse phase and I don't trust the cheapie stuff in the crankcase to be an UCL. I won't be doing a used oil analysis on the rinse oil, what would be the point? Also, FWIW I am a bit of a volunteer "Guinea pig" with my engine.
I hope this reduces confusion.

That tank-ful is now gone. Mileage was nothing special but I took only a rough 'KM's per tank' measurement. No notable side-effects, good or bad.
I won't be sampling the conventional I am using as a post-Auto-RX rinse, so I'm using a double-dose of RedLine fuel system cleaner.
FWIW I am also on my 4th consecutive tankful of 92 octane premium gasohol and find no notable difference.

Just a bit of advice:

Don't put so many different variables into the equation at once.

In other words, don't use fuel system cleaner while doing an ARX cleaning, unless you have a driveability problem such as surging, pinging, knocking, etc.

Do one thing at a time or you'll never which component is giving a "Cause-effect' relationship.

I confess my actions are less than scientific and admit I am playing with multiple factors, but I also must say I am likely to do so in the future. Perhaps I was the first to use Auto-RX during a Canadian winter and perhaps I'll be the first to test the effects of a needlessly high dose of Moly (I plan to use Schaeffer's Moly in addition to LC with a RedLine 5W30 carrier, for as long as used oil analysis support it). Oil nutty? Guilty as charged

But in a year or so I hope to provide insights into Moly debates, even if the results are slightly skewed by the LC factor and whatever else.
To clarify; are you suggesting I use no fuel additives at all, or just no cleaners, during the rinse phase? My rationalization (excuse?) is that Terry prefers (I sense) no RedLine fuel additives during the RedLine extended drain interval I have planned after the rinse. I'll be using "MoleKule Mix" consistantly.
I do such things for BITOG as much as for myself, so as always I am open to suggestions...but I still like to pursue the unconventional (like exceeding 900 PPM Moly for extended intervals)
BTW I sent in 2 samples (each) to 2 different labs on Friday. Terry will get to dictate what gets posted but I look forward to contributing. It's GC with Auto-RX in it that went through a Canadian winter (as above).

Right, just during the rinse phase.

Experimentation is fun. But too many balls in the air or too many shells on the table gets confusing.
 
I filled up with gas last night, and to add another ball or shell, I am trying 5+ consecutive tanks of 92-octane gasohol. Last night's fill had zero additives.
Do you think it's worthwhile to get UOA on the rinse oil? I get the oil pan changed 'free' by the end of June. I MIGHT end up under-rinsing by a few hundred miles...But I'm leaning toward going 2-4 weeks with the new pan and whatever oil they give me; it would allow a test for leaks and such, and make the engine that much cleaner.

Insolubles? They are usually under 0.5%, aren't they? And depend on the filtration, no? I have a by-pass oil filter. Spin-on is a GM / AC-Delco with very few miles on it so far.
BTW I am in e-discussion with Terry, who advised me about one of my oil samples in the past 24 hours. Not ready to post just yet but things look quite nice.
