I found a 1981 year model Lawnboy 6259 model commercial push mower for sale in excellent shape, with bagger included. The only thing it needs is minor carb work, the guy was asking $200, we agreed on $170 due to the carb, he'll bring it to me Thursday night. I have two questions, first, just how good are these engines/lawnmowers, the older lawnboys? I heard they are great and will run forever. Secondly, does $170 seem like a fair price? I found a 1981 model 6259 on ebay for $275, so I figured $170 is fair, just figured I'd ask yall. Its such a nice old Lawnboy, I dont know if I want to use it or let it be a collectors piece once I fix the carb.
I do have a 1998 year model Lawnboy that I bought 10 years ago off of Ebay, I used it about 5 times, one day the primer bulb broke apart as I went to prime it and I havent touched it since. I need to fix that and get it running again.
