Latest Dexron III spec (H?)... When?

When can we expect to see the improved Dex III spec oils hit the market. I know Schaeffer 204 already claims to meet it... what about the "mainstream" brands?

The only one I've seen is Chevron. My guess is that Chevron and Schaeffers were already close to meeting the H spec, since they use better base oils then most brands.

T-Keith: Last week I was shopping for a wrench in the major oil stores in CA and I did not see the Chevron H spec. The stores were still carrying the G-3**** spec -- can you confirm which store carried it.

I saw some at a Phillips 66 gas station (2.99 a quart, of course).

The Agip Dex III we get at work has the new "H" spec.

I found it at my local Checker. They had some of the old stuff to, so if you don't see it ask for some stuff from the back. It says "meets H spec" on the front of the bottle.

GM issues licenses for Dexron ATF annually. They will issue only Dexron-III(H) licenses beginning in 2005. Any remaining Dexron-III(G) will be old stock taking time to work through the distribution channel.
