"Large" parasitic loads - what affect on "smart" battery maintainers?

I’ve got a pro logix but haven’t decided if I like it. I think I’d rather have a constant 13.6 supplied instead of the “exercise” function that they use. Also using it on a daily driver means you may need the car when it’s in the middle of a cycle. The northern tool battery minders are junk, but they do supply a solid charge when switched to maintenance mode, which will be how I use them.

I don't recall if the ProLogix had a disconnect on the AC pwr cord (mines installed in a cubby with the cords tucked away). If it does, installing it permanently under the hood (or somewhere) and disconnecting it for DD use would be no problem - it will start right be up again when the AC is reconnected. You could always add a connector in the AC line if wanted, of course. But NOTE: It will NOT restart if it's disconnected from the battery - then it requires punching buttons. I bent a couple 1/8 Alum straps and added some foam to capture the charger against a surface.

I have a pro logix and while I will use it once a week on each of my cars, it is slow, but it’s algorithm is very thorough. I have the Pulsetech xc450 and xc400 and they’re much quicker at completing their process. I’ve come to like the northern tool battery minders in maintenance mode only. If I hit a car with a Pulsetech and then use the battery minder to maintain, I can get a battery charged to 100% everytime. I have a Noco genius 5 that I no longer use since I’ve went this other route.
