Laptop Battery Life Span

if you dont need the battery and dont care about its ups effect run it to 50% and remove it to a cool dry place.
if you are going on the road top it up before you go.
50% soc and lower temps than being in the hot laptop = long life.

I have to take the whole bottom cover off to get to the battery, so not really an option. This laptop is barely warm on the bottom area where the battery lives.
 
BTW - I tried the "Primarily AC Use" setting in the "Dell Power Manager" to see how high it would charge the battery. It charged it to 100% and held it there, which I don't like if the laptop is always plugged in. So I went back to the "Custom' setting and set it to keep the battery charge level between 50% and 80%.
