I definitely buy my oil changes at Wally World. A 5qt jug of Castrol Magnatec and a Fram Ultra filter out the door was $28. Even the Pennzoil Platinum I run is only $24.99 regular price for the 5qt jug. My money is hard enough to come by, so I'll save where I can.

x2 on Target.

Do lots of shopping at the mart. The entertainment is worth it, only Blains Farm and Fleet matches it. LOL

+3. Haven't stepped foot in Target since............................

For me...
Target - if I am buying any food or drinks and just for light general shopping. Target is better about keeping food items in stock, they have fresh baked goods, and they carry hummus (which I eat a LOT of). If we want to grab a quick meal, their café is more appealing than the Subway at WM. If I want to pick up a magazine, Target might have something I will actually read, compared to hairstyle, soap opera, and gun mags at WM. Also just a generally more pleasant experience than going to WM and I don't mind paying a little more at Target for lower cost items. Bought some chinos for work here a few years ago because they looked nice and were cheap, but they had plastic zippers that failed within a few months. Sticking to the Haggar outlet from now on, even if it is a bit of a drive.

WalMart - oil or most any automotive purchases, cheap DVDs/BluRays for our cable- and internet-less condo, any electronics purchases over $50 or so. The same TV will probably be $100 less at WM than Target, and I love the giant bins of cheap movies to rummage through.

I can't say I hate Walmart, I just hate my local Walmart. It's about half the size of other supercenters. It doesn't have nearly the selection, parking is terrible (the store is so small that most of their inventory is in shipping containers in the parking lot - not kidding), the store is cramped, nothing is in the same place it is in other stores, and the whole place is dirty. Oh, and the automotive department is extremely lacking.

So yeah, I'm not a Walmart hater, I just go to Walmart when I'm out of town. It is the only place I buy oil unless there's a clearance somewhere.

Very happy with that. Delivered to my door in two days.

Excellent price for that Synpower. That's a great deal!

Target reminds me of a spiffed up K-Mart with the sickening popcorn aroma wafting throughout the store. I haven't been to one in ages. I disagree with their politics as well as a poster commented on earlier. Wal-Mart has everything we need if it's a SuperCenter store.

As for the Chinese side of it, WM sells the same foreign made products that the rest do, only more due to their lower prices. Even stores like Macy's and JCP have the same stuff, only relabeled for the store brand but much more in cost.

I can honestly say that the Walmart where I shop at is clean, well stocked and has helpful employees. They are a smaller Walmart and the grocery section is limited, but I don't buy groceries there anyway. Their automotive department is well stocked. I also order on line and pick it up at the store if shipping is not free, if I'm not happy with the on line order I can just bring it back to the store for a refund, no hassles of paying return shipping.

Whimsey

At least no one is claiming that (insert-any-name-brand) makes a specially formulated oil only for Walmart and it's not as good as what you buy in other stores.

I have multiple clean well stocked Walmart stores near my current residence. I don't mind shopping there when the self-checkout lines are open, and haven't encountered tbem closed yet in this area.. I typically go mid-day now that I'm retired andit's a breeze to do our shopping when the store is mostly populated with young mothers and geriatrics with a few non-day shift workers mixed in.

I have lived in more rural areas where they closed the self-checkouts at 9 PM, or the store was poorly stocked with & unkempt so I only shopped there when I couldn't get something elsewhere at a reasonable cost.
