Would you use this filter. Very light film of rust bought a filter kit had air, fuel, engine oil and hydraulic. All the filters looked good and the fit except the hydro. Ordered another kit was the same way. Nothing else is rusted in the filter.

Is that an OEM filter? It doesnt look like it. There are a few knockoffs, and YT has had a few cut opens. All of the knock offs are sub par in quality. I would buy a new OEM one vs running one that looks suspect.

I would use it without even batting an eye. That light surface rust will be coated with hydraulic fluid upon installation and most certainly won't perform any differently.

Not a chance! Don't forget that the BX is a hydro transmission tractor that shares the same fluid as the hydraulic system. You want that fluid clean and clear, as the swash plate and pump are very sensitive. As others have stated, use new Kubota filters.

I would probably avoid using that rusty filter because it may be that rough on the inside. This thread caught my eye because it is a hydraulic filter for a Kubota tractor. I ran into an issue with the hydraulic filters coming loose and leaking on my New Holland TZ25DA sub compact. Those leaks were really getting annoying and I figured I’d try OEM. So, I took a ride to my New Holland dealer who is also a Kubota dealer. He set me up with the OEM filters and I asked if he heard about non-OEM filters leaking and answered that it’s a very common problem, especially with Kubota machines. The OEM filters were very close to the price of the NAPA filters I bought so other than the 60 miles trip isn’t really worth the difference in price. Stick with OEM filters on your tractor!
