Koito vs. Lucas H4's, Light Pattern

First of all, thanks to Roofless VW.

I finally installed the Koito's on the diesel Rover. These are my new favorite 7" H4 E-code headlamps, I'd say they are even better than the old gold standard Cibie's.

The Lucas are good, better than any sealed beam or the Indian and Chinese e-code clones I've seen, but not as good as the Hella's or these. You can see how the Lucas (right) really flood the area directly in front of the vehicle while the Koito (left) provides a very even illumination across the road. Both have very sharp cutoffs.

That left side beam pattern is quite nice. I have hella 5” e-code mounted in motorcycle housings as aux headlights and they put a great light on the road and are great with street signs. The Hellas are real similar to koito.

I used Cibie on a couple different cars in the past, they were great. I did not find the Hella E code to be that far off...more than acceptable.
