My PC ran an update overnite. When I tried to use it the keyboard would not work. I tried to uninstall, reinstall drivers, I bought a usb keyboard. I keep getting the same code 39 error(drivers corrupt or missing. I have a driver cd for the new keyboard but still does not work. I have looked all over the internet and could not find a solution. Many people have had this, but no solutions posted. I do not see any keyboard settings in my bios, only ps2 mouse. Help please...

It is A HP Media Center PC running Windows XP with a Pentium D and
ACPI

Figured I should put in the right forum

I would start with going to the Microsoft update website and scan your pc for any new updates. Perhaps some drivers were corrupt and did not install properly. Check for any updates of hardware and software on the website. If something was not installed properly, the website should pick up on it and give you the ability to install again.

If this doesn't work, try system restore to the point before you ran the updates.

Good luck.

Using system restore utility in Windows, restore to the time before the updates were applied. This will get your computers keyboard working again.

Then try doing the updates again, maybe something didn't get installed properly and/or doesn't agree with your system.
