I am looking for a key storage box for outdoors, to keep a spare key in an emergency.

I rmemeber seeing such a box at a friend's house, where we were staying temporarily years ago, and had to use it. It was mounted outside, was small, rugged and had a small keypad where you had to enter a combination to open. It was metal, IIRC.

Now I want one for our house, and it seems like all i can find on amazon and home depot are Junk, cheaply made flimsy stuff with bad reviews and most of them plastic.

Does anyone know where to find a decent one?

I need to do the same for our cars. (A box that mounts to underside or some other part of car and should have a lock/combination).

If you guys have a good one or can recommend me good lock boxes for house keys and car car keys, please post (with links, if possible)

Thanks much in advance.

My brother installed one on his house, so the kids wouldn't need to take keys around, and workers can get in.

It's as easy to install as any standard door lock or deadbolt (assuming your door is standard and in good condition).

Regarding batteries, when battery begin to get low it'll flash or beep at at you everytime you use it to remind you to replace batteries.

If the batteries happen to run out, then it just becomes into a regular lock where you use the keys.
