Soneone needs to stand up and do something about the jobs leaving this country. Doing away with NAFTA would be fine with me. We can't fairly compete with countries who rape the environment and pay the workers so little that they live in squalor. You can't even drink the water in Mexico. My way of helping save the mfg. jobs is that I absolutely refuse to buy foreign products unless there is no alternative. When I buy a car, I look at the US/Canadian parts content sticker and make sure it has a high domestic parts origin. Bush has to go. I just wish that Gephart was running against him instead of the wishy washy Kerry.

The reason that Kerry uttered that Bush operatives are "crooked...liars" is that Bush operatives are crooked...liars. Today's papers provide us with the most recent proof of same:

"OFFICIAL SAYS HE WAS TOLD TO WITHHOLD MEDICARE DATA" "The government's longtime chief analyst of Medicare costs said yesterday that Bush administration officials threatened to fire him last year if he disclosed to Congress that he believed the prescription drug legislation favored by the White House would prove far more expensive than lawmakers had been told."

"Richard S. Foster, a nonpartisan Department of Health and Human Services official who has been Medicare's chief actuary for nine years, said he nearly resigned in protest because he thought the top Medicare administrator, and perhaps White House officials, were acting against the public interest by withholding information about how much changes to the program would cost. 'Certainly, Congress did not have all the information they might have wanted, or that we had,'Foster said in an interview."

Or perhaps the Nov. 20, 2000 issue of Newsweek magazine addresses this matter best: "After Bush lost the New Hampshire primary to John McCain, the (Bush) campaign was ready to go negative...Voters were told that McCain was a liar, a hypocrite, a philanderer and a jerk. They were told he was not a hero at all but a Manchurian Candidate, brainwashed or broken in captivity and sent home to betray his comrades in arms. They were told he had had affairs, illegitimate children, that he infected his wife with a venereal disease and that he had sex with hookers." http://www.findarticles.com/cf_dls/m4PRN/2000_Nov_12/66862415/p1/article.jhtml

Guess it's called something else when the democrats are doing it.

Exactly, one side has been quiet for the last 6 months while being constantly attacked, they resond with ONE negative ad and it is the worst thing to ever happen in a Presidential race

.

As far as republicans being "crooked...liars", like the dems aren't, they ALL say whatever they have to to try to get into office.

DJ, I agree with you completely. We badly need truly great men and women in the high political offices of this country. All I see on BOTH sides are professional politicians who would not be able to achieve greatness if they even had some conception of what it was.
