I was playing with a unit at a local store this weekend. i must preface this by saying the unit was not connected to actual satellites....

on the nav map screen when i used my finger to point and scroll, the graphics would scroll (say left) leaving 1 inch of black video on the right and then that video would slowly fill in. looked like a video game from the early 1980's. Does this happen on a real connected unit? note: i also played with a pioneer unit that was much much faster.

highway names would show, but not the street names of smaller streets, even some major non-hwy streets did not have their street names displayed. is this so?

i test drove a cadillac cts and played with its nav. when you search, say for pizza, it does not give you a list of pizza places, instead it uses the nav map showing where you are and all the pizza places around you, ie, visually. you can then touch one and it will give you nav directions there or you can zoom out and see more pizza places on the map with you centered, etc. does the 8120 have anything like this?

The ones for 150 bucks and on sale for 100 bucks give you all of the street names when you zoom in enough.

Honestly as long as they have the 2008 maps in them..they are disposable units, all good and all about the same. Not even worth agonizing about. Replace them once ever year or two.
