Kendall synthetic

Hi you all,

This time around I think I might try this new Kendall synthetic oil that I've seen atPEP BOYS a couple days ago for the most fantastic price I've ever saw. Compared to my usual Mobil 1 it cost half the price so my bill/invoice will be much lighter.

For my curosity has anyone tried it in the 5w30 grade??? Do you believe it's just as good as M1???

Isn't Kendall now part of ConocoPhillips? Thus, it is like Motorcraft, who get their oil from C-P?

IMO it's better than M1 in many ways. From some of the used oil analysis it thins down a little after long use; but if you do 5k, maybe 6k OCI's or your car likes it thinner (accepts 5w20), no prob even going longer than that.

I got myself a little stock of both the synthetic and blend, and will be testing out a cocktail mix this spring. I've been using the standard blend for years at the firestone oil changes; the car's always liked it and it's performed wonderfully; recently it's been coming with a greatly improved additive formulation.

Good oil, very good, I wouldn't say better than M1 but it is good for 5k in almost anything spec'ing 5w30. Personally I don't go more than 5k on anything with the exception of true synthetics.

First off for the price it can't be beat as I haven't seen any other brand that's a synthetic made by Conoco Phillips 76.

I just in reality need a reasonable synthetic to try/use for unti, my next service cuz in my normal driving habits I do 3K OCI's every 6 months instead of the usual 3.

I have my Sister use it in her 2006 3.5L Impala and it has performed very well. The Quaker State Horsepower was varnishing and leaving deposits for some reason so I swapped her to the Kendall GT1 Full Synthetic and in 2 OCI's it cleaned it up. $4.99 p/qt here at PepBoys for the 5w30( grade she uses ).

May not be better than M1 but it is very good and I personally would rather give my money to CP than EM.

I'm glad it's working out in your sisters Impala. I've heard from past years that Pennzoil varnishes the inside of engines and since QS is produced by them I wonder if ther's any correlation. I've never tried Pennzoil myself but alwaysnted to. In the past I have tried Quaker State Synthetic with good results and wouldn't mind doing it again.

Since I first saw Kendall synthetic on the PEP BOYS shelf I've been trying to get some to try and a couple days ago they seemed to have allot so for the first time I'm going for it. Here this oil goes fast so tomorrow I'm puting some cash down for 6 quarts. For the $4.99/quart price it's worth a try at least once. Besides that my pocket book is thinning out due to the gas prices going up pretty fast in Los Angeles. If this continues Kendall might just become the best baragin today. That's if I can continue to get at least 6 quarts of 5w30.
