Anyone try a K & N cartridge filter? One of my vehicles uses this type of filter and I am going to try a K & N on the next oil change. K & N claims their filter media is far superior to the OEM material.

IMO, you'd be wasting a lot of $$. MY Fusion 2.3 had cartridge, and K&N made one for it. They were 2-3x the price of a Wix. Most people buy a K&N oil filter for the very sturdy can, and 1" nut welded on. I can see spending a little more for those items. In the case of a cartidge filter, you will not be getting any of these benefits (obviously). I would stick to Wix or MC.

K & N filter media is superior to most OEM types. So is Purolator Pure One and Wix for about half the price. I understand that K&N is more like a Mobil 1 with a nut welded on top. I remember years ago when I was a lad (1960's) Hastings used to have a nut at the end of their filter too. K&N as well as Mobil 1 are great filters the only thing I object is paying twice as much for something because of a name or gimmick.
