We had to pick up a customers car about 25 minutes from my shop for an engine rebuild and had to pick up 4 quarts of engine oil from K-mart..I never liked K-Mart since sears took over but it was a good experience the staff was very helpful and they had lots of oil on hand.. The prices were not great but in an emergency it worked. I got 5qt. container of smittys 10w30 for the ride to my shop..lol
I always said i would never go there but they have changed a little for the good.. Smittys also had a nice anti leak seal. I am going to look into smittys oil for my shop i want to get rid of the bulk tank.

zach should be along shortly asking once again if they are still in business.

I don't live in a particularly commercial area of CT; consequently K-marts are all 25+ miles away.

Would be good to have some local competition; kmart or someone else.

Sears didn't buy K Mart,K Mart bought Sears. That said, they merged operations and allowed Sears items like Craftsman tools in K Marts to help "Widen" their market coverage.Frankly, today, there is no need for a K Mart, what with all the Walmarts around. And every town now has 3-4 auto parts stores,so that part of the market is covered.

I was in a Kmart several weeks back for the first time in a long time.
They had decent markdowns on some items.
They also had Purolator synthetic oil filters on sale for $5.94, so I bought a couple for the newer Accord.
Gone were the huge displays of ancient oil and filters.

My local Kmart just quit carrying Quaker State last month. Too bad, I frequented them when Quaker State Conventional was on sale for $2.69/qt. or $13.50 a 5 qt. jug.

Are the isles still cluttered with seasonal junk while regular shelf items aren't restocked for months on end? Haven't been in a K Mart for over twenty years and don't intend to ever go in one again. Too much junk
