Those temps are why I live in the southeast. And I thought we have been having a cold snap.
Schools have been delayed or closed for the past 3 or 4 school days. Work has been delayed as well. I guess we are too soft down here. Or probably simply not prepared with trucks, scoops, salt, etc
And people down here sure cant drive on snow and ice. They play dodge car out there. Crazy.
But we do get some nice winter days from time to time and get out the motorcycles and golf clubs for a quick respite. Guess that is why we live down here.
My hat is off to you folks. Stay warm
I just heard on the t.v. in the next room about freezing rain in texas canceling flights , and this storm heading east.northern Arizona and new mexico are getting/going to get snow.this is from a Detroit weather forecast.
it's been a crazy winter for many areas, relative to the norm.
a lot of americans from mi., and oh. are in Windsor all the time, and 24/7,since the casino opened some years back. just like some posters here from the south like to give jabs at the northern posters about the winters, these americans can often be heard talking about why people would want to live in the south.
comments like -- gulf states have crazy rain storms, tropical storms that bring gale force winds and monsoon rains. and the hurricanes -- and the threat of them every year, forever.
12 named tropical storms, 6 hurricanes, and 3 severe hurricanes are forecast this year.this comment was heard in a deli about a week ago.
why would people live in a desert where it hits 100, 110 F., for much of the year, and you can't even go outside?
why would would people live where drought, crazy rains, mudslides and earthquakes are common?
again, mi., and oh. residents commenting about the weather, which seems to be a common topic anywhere you go.i guess that's why they live in the north.
much of it has to do with one's upbringing.if one doesn't like the weather as a kid, location aside, get the proper training/education so you can get work in an area in which you like the weather.
it comes down to -- to each his own.
to those in the northeast --hang in there, people. a few more weeks of winter, and it's done.
