I am glad I was wrong. Despite my doubts the jury actually got it right. They went on the evidence and the actual law. They did not not fall victim to fear or worry about what the "political ramifications" would be as another member talked about and they did not follow a mind set so many have of a "kid"( please )is dead and someone must pay.

Kudos to those women. They did their duty properly.

I'd love to know why Z's neighbor would get on Fox, and tell the world that he has 'insider info' that the jury is 5 to 1, for acquittal. You'd have to be incredibly gullible to believe that anyone would have access to this information.

If the Fed's charging him with civil right violation it will be unfair for him and it will cost him a lot of money even if he found not guilty again.

Governments at any level, local or state or federal, have almost unlimited money to prosecute anyone but defendant has limited resource.

Per Florida law, he is not subject to a lawsuit for Martin's death.

Yes, now the Feds will probably go after Zimmerman even though he has been found not guilty. And what is really sad is there is no evidence that Zimmerman is racist. On Fox News (now I know some of you hate
Fox News but that is what I watch) there was some commentary to the effect that Zimmerman took an African American woman to his high school prom, he helped a homeless man (I believe that man was African American) who was being victimized in some way by the son of a police officer, and he tutored minority youth. The mainstream news media made this entire trial into a racial thing but there is apparently no evidence whatsoever that Zimmerman is racist, wannabe cop or no wannabe cop.

This entire mess is a sad commentary on the state of most of the news media in this country and some people in the federal government. The guy was found not guilty. So let him go. His life has already been ruined.

There will come a time I think, when the history books are written in the future, that many in the news media and the government are going to look very, very bad in those history books. Something they might want to consider. But I am sure they will not consider it. But the history books in the future will be written anyway.

Well, that is your opinion which you are entitled to. Probably my pick for worse news network would be MSNBC. And that is my opinion which I am entitled to. I think I have a pretty good idea how much of the current new media in the USA will be described in the history books of the future.

The purpose of the news media is to tell the truth and report the news to the people of the USA. The purpose of the news media is not to try to be some social change force or to support certain political leaders. The news media in the USA is not even wise enough to be a force for social change.

Though I'd say the media in general. Not to mention the media is stupid as well. I can now count off my hand how many times my local media has made a big story out of police layoffs.

Powers controls everything...if you can get enough. One man who tried to take over Europe many years ago...and had an iron fist controling his own, and that included the media..

You are joking right? Fox news has a lot of stupidity but they seem to be one of the few TV news outlets not carrying the water and kowtowing to the powers that be. The sycophantic "press" - CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC... they are they not much better than a propaganda group. It's disgusting. You know they never did show any photos of Trayvon Martin after the point he decided to go Thug Life. They only showed little boy pics, not 6'2"+ pictures, smoking, holding guns......why would that be?
