Good stuff for engines with flat tappets. High ZDDP levels and little detergents. Not ideal for every day driving.

I watched a back to back comparison with penzoil 25-50 on the dyno , then with the gibbs break in oil, then the #6 syn race oil. This was done in a 410 sprint car engine that was brand new and never raced before. I also feel it was done in the correct ways to be 100% on the up and up. The gibbs oil was able to produce almost 13 more horsepower and nearly 10 more pounds of torque. If you have the money I would say its a wise investment.

Solid marketing...

Joe Gibb's Racing, prior to having their own oil made, tested Royal Purple, Redline Racing 30wt, Mobil 1R 0w30, and even Amsoil Series 2000 at one point. Of those mentioned, they found Mobil 1 was best. I know that would surprise many, including myself but that is what I was told. They have a lot of professional racing teams using their oils and that is the best indication of how good an oil is. Mobil 1 wasn't meeting their needs so they had their custom oil made for them by Lubrizol.
