My moms 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis with 50,000 miles on it has the original Motorcraft battery that seems ok but i want to replace it What should i use? I get discounts at all the auto parts stores but what about wal mart?
I always liked auto zone gold but i want opinions if i asked this already im sorry but i want to get her one this week.

AAP gold are good, but won't last 9 years..Motorcraft won't be wrong. I like Interstate also.

Your best bargain will probably be an Advance Auto battery purchased "buy online pickup in store" using their ridiculous coupon codes.

That's assuming you have Advance in your area.

The last two batteries I bought have been Advance batteries purchased this way. Most sizes are made by Johnson Controls.

Even if he goes for the Tested Tough MAX, it's still not the same battery as what was there originally from the assembly plant.

Go for the AAP Gold with the coupon. I've sold hundreds of these batteries and have had very few problems with them. When you pick up in store have them test your Electrical System at that time, it's free so why not ?? They can also install it for you so you won't have to mess with a core charge. Just because JCI makes batteries for many retailers, they are not the identical battery, with a different label. The JCI rep once told me that AAP had the lowest defect rate, guess who had the highest, Walmart.

I buy what Sam's Club has on the shelf, they tend to last just as long as the average OEM battery... My mom's '03 Grand Marquis needed a battery in Sept of '10(I was in Vegas), she now has whatever Sam's had at the time, as does my '98 Grand Marquis...

BTW her car has yet to turn 30K mi...

what about auto zone they bend over backwards for us they are delivering to my shop 2 or sometimes 4 times a day
I like maintenance free and think the original battery is the best
