The JFKerry camp is sending out a trial balloon to explain his statement to the Senate in 1986: "I remember Christmas of 1968 sitting on a gunboat in Cambodia. I remember what it was like to be shot at by the Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge and Cambodians, and have the president of the United States telling the American people that I was not there; the troops were not in Cambodia. I have that memory which is seared--seared--in me."
The Swiftvets have stated they were not in Cambodia that Christmas, and apparently JFKerry can't smear that away.
The explanation for this error? JFKerry was in Cambodia in January! [upcoming piece in the New Yorker].
Sure, I always get Christmas confused with January
Like I said in another thread, I couldn't care less where he was at Christmas 1968. It does start to get my attention when the explanations for the discrepancies are ludicrous.
Wouldn't is be easier for JFKerry to just say he thought he was in Cambodia that Christmas, but maybe was wrong? JFKerry needs to fire his campaign staff.
Keith.
