I got quite a scare today. My my wife was involved in a high speed hit and run...in which he hit 3 other drivers as well as my wife. It took a few cops to get all the info, and they bad dude still got away...

After getting her checked out, everything came back okay. One guy was not so lucky, as he had to be rushed to the local hospital. It's rare that I nearly fall apart, but I was quite worried about her until then..and thank goodness my little guy was in school.

Figured the car was totaled, considering she was hit from both ends. Looks like I'll need a new hood, driver's front fender, and a set of new headlights. Trunk just needs a little adjusting...biggest concern is the driver's side door...may have to bend the fender back a bit to get the door open again...

In all, I'm counting my blessings, even after this trying day....

Very happy your wife is ok.

Just goes to show you how quickly things can get turned upside down on any of us doing even the most routine of things.

Dash cam, then you can get evidence, and if it was awesome, then lease the rights of the footage to a syndicated show to recover some loss.

Traumatic for all involved to say the least. Glad your wife is OK. Maybe evidence or a witness can still lead police to the perp.

Dash Cam.
Everyone should have one.
Be prepared for the unexpected.

But, I have a family member who was in a hit & run.
His car was totaled / his wife went to the hospital.
And, he still has not bought a dash cam.

Edit: I glad your wife was not hurt.

Those phone calls are very disconcerting and traumatic.Property can be replaced but not lives. You will have something special to be thankful for when you celebrate Thanksgiving this year. Regards to you and your family Sir.

Thanks everyone...just got the last tests done-everything is good.

Cavalier (her car) is going to be mismatched (silver and primer), but it looks like we can put it back together. I would paint it (car still looks great), but at nearly 12 years old and 100k on it, doesn't make sense to spend the money. Granted, the car will still get the updates I wanted (Trans service/control arms)

I've noticed quite a few accidents around here...it almost does not make sense to get a nice car any more...
