It came in 2007 for some testing, but most importantly, it will come on a regular basis starting next summer, hoping to be everyday later on.
As for now, we have 4 flights per day to Paris in summer, 3 in winter (used to be 3 and 2 last year), and with it, we may lose one flight (as one flight with it equals two with any other one).
It came only yesterday to celebrate the 60 year anniversary for Air France of coming to Montreal.

There are some advantages to live close to an airport, you can take pictures from your bedroom ;-p

To give you an idea of its size, I took a picture with the same setting on the camera with the following aircraft, which looks like to be an A318 (or may be an Embraer E190).

Yes, huge!

I was able to see the A380 up close and personal at Airventure Oshkosh last summer. Those engines look big enough to swallow a pickup truck.

The pilots had built an MC-12 Cri-Cri, which is one of the smallest airplanes in the world, and had parked it directly under the A380--what a contrast!

P.S. Here is a 360 pan that is just fantastic, taken at Airventure 2009:

For a size comparison, here's the front of a 747 being towed.

I agree, but I think Airbus only is "looking" at the paid receipts of that cruise ship in the sky.

Kind of an ugly aircraft....but certainly noteworthy and historic. The 747, while smaller, is far more attractive in my book. The new 747-800 is the latest model....very elegant looking.
I wonder if Airbus is going to make a decent enough return on this aircraft....or wish they never built it?

Passengers booking flights are insisting they go on an A380 flight for the comfort blash blah. Also it will look 'right' when the stretched version flies, it's a tad short in initial guise.

No, I am like Chris, I love airplanes, so I can easily live with that (and I can sleep even better since they removed all the 727s flying here ;-).

The good thing is that our airport has a curfew, so it is not a problem here, and aircrafts are becoming quieter and quieter.

lol.
Not KGB, my other passion beside aircrafts and race cars is photography.

Combination of the two gives nice pictures (I got lucky having a great weather at that time (nice sun after a shower), two minutes later, there was no sun anymore).
