This is off of a diesel cab over Isuzu and was run for 6 months. I noticed it has a bypass and a full flow filter inside.

That is weird. I wonder how it works?

Flow is going to take the path of least resistance. I assume once the full flow plugs, the bypass section takes over?

If you can get over the upright driving position and not to recline the seat back, those Isuzu NQR and NPR trucks are a superior vehicle for delivery. If I were still looking for a box truck I would consider one of them over the E-450 cutaway chassis vans any day. IF I lived close to a servicing dealer. It is said the odometer on them starts at 3xx,xxx.

To he honest I’ve never seen a split filter like that, I have heard of two concentric layers but not this. Very interesting filter.

It would work the same way the Microgreen filters worked. There is a small amount of flow through the more restrictive finer element. There is still plenty of less restrictive flow through the other element to keep the pressure gradient reasonable. A filter could be woven so the same action takes place with a single element I think.
Woven is just a descriptive word here, they don't weave filter media lik on a loom. I think they just make it it in uniform sheets and cut it up to fit. Around here one has to walk on eggshells so added that.

It's fairly common on big diesel applications but this is the only small filter I've see like this. It's called Duel Flow

The bypass section is the higher resistance to flow. Both are flowing at the same time, but less flow is going through the bypass section because it's more flow restrictive. It's more likely for the bypass section to "plug up" first and not flow as much the longer the filter is used.
