So it’s finally in there. Installation was extremely easy with the big sleeve style plastic nut with a brass insert. The bottom of the faucet opening was a big brass shank. It didn’t stick out much as this is a granite counter that adds about 3/4”, but it was enough. With the sleeve I could even hand tighten with one hand reaching in while my other hand held on to the faucet to keep it from rotating. This actually has a ball on the pullout hose at the sprayer end. I don’t know exactly how the previous one was sealed, but I realize it wasn’t a ball, and it was leaking severely.
When I first had water going through the faucet, it came out black, but was clear within 5 seconds.
If it’s still working in a couple of years, I consider that a win.
