Wife’s car, 2019 Hyundai Tucson, 35k miles.

Has a pop sound when accelerating hard from a stop and sometimes abrupt corner direction changes. Speed bump, etc. I thought it was a swaybar link but they're solid. However, this is the back of the lower control arm.

I don’t know much outside of trucks so this seems like way too much play to me, it seems to be a rubber bushing thou so idk.

Looks like you just replace the whole LCA in this scenario. Anything I’m missing?

Ok, I checked the other side and it has just as much play there so idk now. Not sure what the noise is.

That movement in the LCA rubber compliance bushing looks normal to me. Take a close look to see if the rubber is split/torn like a bad motor mount. If the noise is more like a metal on metal "clunk" and limited to one side, it may be an upper strut mount (i.e., "top hat") failure.

Check all the connections on the suspension. I was having a terrible clunking noise on my dodge caravan when i was going over some bad roads. I thought it was stabilizer bar being loose. Ended up being a loose nut on one of the stabilizer bar end links.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The upper strut mount makes sense. I’ll update the thread when I figure it out.
