Is this a "Full" synthetic?

New to the board, and this has probably already been asked, but I did a search did not find an answer.

I just purchased some mobil 1 turbo diesel truck 5W-40, and I saw that NAPA is carrying this:

Chevron Delo® 400 Synthetic SAE 0W-30, 5W-40

SAE Grade 0w30 and 5W-40
Product Numbers 235195 and 235194

It says that they are 100% synthetic; is that the same as "Full Synthetic".

The MSDS says "Distillates, hydrotreated heavy paraffinic"

My application is in a Kubota tractor.

My guess would be Group III full synthetic. Hydrotreated paraffinic spells out group III. Let others that "really" know chime in.....welcome!

I agree, probably a Group III full synthetic.

Have to agree with the Group III. I did a test with that oil at -30 celsius. It seemed to crystallize and I was quite surprised at just how much it did not flow at that temp. I had Esso XD3 0W40 and it poured with ease. It is PAO, though.

Certainly. Mobil/Delvac oils are great, mostly PAO based oils. Delvac1 is for sure. Esso is made by the same Co-Exxon

The Syn Delo is mostly GPIII, but I believe it has an ester additive carrier oil. The oil is a great performer in most cases. For the best cold weather performance it's hard to beat XD3, especially at the price most seem to buy it for.

Probably sold only in Canada... which is not that far from your location.

If you head across the line, you would do well to pick some up. It is a great oil, reasonably priced and can usually be found at Wal-mart. Group IV PAO, too

Only the 0w30 and 0w40... but that's okay.

Also, the United Farmers of Alberta have their house brand which is almost certainly repackaged XD-3, which I've heard is very reasonably priced. It could be the cheapest PAO oil in North America, and you don't have to be a member to buy from them.
