Is there a gasket sealant that can be used on the bowl o-ring of a carburator?

I have an older Hustler Fastrak that has a Nikki carb. I pulled it apart to clean it and the main o-ring seal is compressed enough that I doubt it will seal. I had no luck finding a rebuild kit for this carb. I soaked the o-ring in ATF hoping it would swell, but a day later it looks about the same. I could put some sealant down in the groove to help the o-ring out, but know that gasoline presents a challenge.

It is roughly an R-32 o-ring. I have that size in some of my assortments, but the x-section of those is too fat.

I do have some Seal-all I could coat it with. I read reviews that when it dries, it is impervious to gasoline.

Any other suggestions?

If the o-ring is otherwise flexible see if you can pull it out and put it in upside-down.

There's got to be an o-ring that fits; the carb guys found one. Play on mcmaster.com
