Is the GM 2.2L OHV a flat tappet?

Wow that was fast! Thanks for the input onmo. I know they are hydraulic lifters, but that is about the extent of my knowledge of the valvetrain, besides knowing the rocker arms are an older type of design, which is not as good? Or something like that. I know they changed the rocker arms with the 98' model year 2200 version.

Always here to help. In 1998 I know they changed the rockers to roller fulcrum, but from what I can tell the lifters had been roller for some time at that point.
 
I don't suppose you could explain the difference/advantages of the roller fulcrum over the other type of rocker arms? Google search yields little more than ads to buy them.

Ahhhhh.... That makes sense. So a standard rocker arm would look something like this. (Forgive the awful example T U T and a roller rocker would be more like T O T
