I'm considering putting my wife's vehicle on a two or three times per year diet of some type of fuel system cleaner. Right now, my top choices are FP60, Techron and Regane.

My question is, is FP60 as effective as Regane and Techron when used only a few times per year, or is it designed to be most beneficial when used on a continuous basis?

I don't want the hassle of keeping track of my wife's re-fueling habits, so I'm interested in doing treatments just a few times per year.

Yes, works well with an occasional application, at least it has for me.

The great thing about fuel power is you can add it once you get home from the gas station. Just add it to her tank once a week or so then you don't even need to know when she fills up.

A few times a year?

Well, it's better than nothing.

Obviously, slower cleaning more often is better than a little cleaning every once in a while.

I'd just throw in a few ounces once a week.

Cheapskate!

FP has a cost of .29 an OZ and you want to treat your wifes car to 2-3 treatments a year ...may be it is time you started to look for a higher paying job if .29 cents is going to break the bank

LOLOLOLOLOLOLO just kidding

In my case I'd be adding to one of the tanks every 3 days. This is s little inconvenient. I could do it ..sure ..but it's against my nature. I could probably shock dose once a month.

Both Terry Dyson and Molakule have told me that running small doses in every tankful is much more effective than doing bigger doses less frequently.

I got one of those Stabil dosing containers. I keep it in the Festiva and give it a dose at every tank. For the Impala, I use a 5oz Lucas UCL container. Fill it to 4 oz and put it in at every tank. Just make sure they have a "2" on the bottom of the container.

For my GF's vehicle, once every two weeks I check the tank and put approximately the right amount in for what's left. If it's near empty, I put a full dose in and tell her she'll blow it up if she does not fill up in the morning.

No, actually I just wait a couple of days and put a full dose in.
