I find the ricers with the slowest cars are the ones with the biggest mouths.

Billionaire George Soros thinks enough of Ford to buy up 7.3 million shares despite what rszappa1 may say. It sent the value of my Ford stock up-again. Thanks George!

George Soros spends 53 million

Too bad he didn't get in when it was around $1 per share. That 53 million dollar investment would be worth over 400 million dollars now.

At least Ford didn't ask you and I to pay their bills.
I feel that Ford will prosper because the Quality of their vehicles will sell them.

Ford has made an impressive turn around in one of the worst economies in recent history. True, Ford has a way to go but there is definit light at the end of the tunnel for which all of us should be cheering. Many jobs are at stake with Fords success or failure so here's hoping Ford succeds big time and GM and Chrusler can follow suite.

I don't know if they're on a roll or not, but I'll single-handedly take credit for there success!

Seriously though, it's people like me that Ford probably needs: 43 yr old guys who've never owned an American car in their life--until my last one (I'm going to forget about the '76 Pinto I bought from my dad, since it was never in my name...).

American cars in the 'mid/late '80's and early '90's were simply behind the imports, no matter what their apologists say--in styling, ergonomics and reliability. It takes a while to make up for that reputation.

I went out to get a Highlander and ended up with a Freestyle. While cost was a factor (I bought used and the FS had big depreciation), I actually preferred the FS over the Highlander and the Tribeca, regardless of cost.

Now, looking for my next car 2 yrs from now, I've already picked it out: http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/overview.aspx?year=2010&make=Ford&model=Transit Connect

Go ahead and laugh, but I dig this thing. I'm guessing they've turned a lot of other long-time 'import only' folks around the corner as well.

To my eye, Hyundai and Ford are the two companies that most have it goin' on right now.

I agree:

and we have 1 of each: my ridiculously dependable 97 Tbird 4.6L and wife's ridiculously dependable 2003 Hyundai Elantra - (both now around 135k miles and still going strong, with zero prob;s on Elantra and only 1 repair on the 'bird)

Ford is carrying around 35B in debt. How much profitable volume do they need to support that?

Their stock is doing well of late, almost $9 yesterday. But with negative equity per share of around $8, one must ask oneself just how long the Co. can remain a going concern.

I have nothing against Fords. I've owned more than my share. Between the nickle and diming, and the unexpected repairs, not to mention unfriendly dealerships, I've taken my money in other directions.

Like em or not, Ford IS on a roll.

But it's a fact that UAW and negative equity issues may cause something in the near future.

But bravo to them for leveraging their [censored] a few years before the big collapse. I'm not sure if it was just fortuitous or they planned it that way.

still, they're doing better than the other 2 and have some good vehicles...and believe me i have experienced horrible dealerships when my wife had a Honda - they were just arrogant, and SOME of the Ford people were also not nice, but the current dealer seems honest and pretty ok..never had any problem...Hyundai dealer, while detached and not very "chatty", has been excellent with service so far.

+1....In Broward and Miami-Dade it is a total nightmare!

Wow you really need to read more about him...... It goes way past how much money he has....although part of it is how he gets his money.....

You must not be talking about toyota. I bought mine and it was at the dealer an average of once every 5 weeks until I unloaded it.

Sell a car, never see the customer again, until the car dies.
About 17 years later.

If they are so "awesome" kid ,then why are there just as many sevice bays at Toyoda dealerships as anywhere else?

Every car has problems, again you may not experience problems, it doesn't mean they do not exist, or that someone else hasn't experienced an issue. These are all opinions, and as such treat em as that.

Its all perspective and opinion.
