I can’t believe it stayed pointed in a straight direction and didn’t yaw out of control, roll over, and break up.

Was that the result of any control input of the pilot, or just luck?

The IL-62 has a very poor track record and consumed may lives due to soviet-era manufacturing/maintenance practices. Museum is the only place these things belong to, alas, I think they're still in operation in some parts of the world.

Landing on an uneven surface of grass is very different than landing on a runway.

With the editing going back-and-forth between the airplane and the crowd, it's hard to actually do a good analysis; but it's obvious that they just touched that little ridge after they cleared the trees and that caused the initial bounce back up in the air.

Looks like they did well coming in just above the trees to maximize rollout space. Too close? IDK.

Definitely seems like there were multiple opportunities for it to have ended up in a crash.

Curious how they could have done it better.

Better/earlier flare?

With the undulations in the terrain, and the landing speed necessary for such a large swept-wing jet, it’s hard to say.

A very long single aisle not really intended for unprepared field operations to have made a planned landing in this place.
I love how the crew just comes sauntering off the aircraft looking quite casual and not at all stressed.
