Interesting XG7317 filter dissection and discussion

I'm going to point out something that that I didn't like seeing in this video. Notice how easily the media seems to tear when he pushes it sideways with his fingers at time 5:38. If there are any wide pleats going on, this could be a recipe for pleat tearing like seen in Purolators. Will be interesting to see what members here find with some future C&Ps.

I just watched that and it looks like that media is very brittle. Not something I would expect nor want.

In 5 months I will have the same filter (with wire backing) with 30K miles and had 6 drain / refills.
