Interesting repackager of bulk motor oil for sale on Facebook Marketplace

A Facebook Marketplace seller in Rio Rancho, NM is offering repacked bulk motor.
When I first met my wife like 20 years ago, she mentioned that she would never go out with someone from Rio Rancho /
Good thing I was living in Santa Fe back then.... ;)

$2.50 a quart isn't really worth it. I can buy mag 1 15w-40 with manufacturer approvals for $3.24 a quart with tax and free shipping to my door. For 5 quarts worth it's not even 4 bucks more to get clean uncontaminated oil that's better formulated and without wasting gas to drive there or having to deal with sketchy seller weirdness. That 5w-30 is probably an older sn conventional oil as those are more profitable and are still made for lube places. I highly doubt it's full synthetic SP with a d1g3 license.

Good grief, think of the contamination.
I have a hard time with some shops not closing lids on their bulk tanks.

This is ~3 months worth of dust in our building.. (all dirt roads here) Imagine that mixed in their oil.

Yeah, it looks like the guy has/had a job at a Jiffy Lube or similar, and was stealing oil out of the bulk dispenser. I could be wrong, but I doubt I am.
That was my first thought seeing this. Actually caught a lube tech trying to do something similar years ago. They didn't thing we dipped the tanks somewhat regularly.

I guess the theory of hustlin oil from one place of work makes sense as if you were trying to sell a 55gal drum… wouldn’t you last the whole drum, its contents or offer people to BYO-jug?

I’ve mixed coolant and kept it in milk jugs (from the distilled water jugs I’d buy water in) but never oil… at least long term?

Will the VOA show BPA? 🤣

Mighty is just a distributor. Back in the 80’s I bought some spark plugs from a private-named parts store. He gave me a box of “Mighty “ spark plugs. They were rebranded champions at the time. Never heard of them, so I naturally asked about them. Dude explained what they were and who made them. Since then I’ve seen filters and other parts clearly rebranded. I think they were just meant mainly for jobbers.
That and the fact Mighty Mouse was just a cartoon..... Superman was a real guy.
