Interesting Brew.

Tell me what you guys think of this brew. Last time I changed my wife's oil, we were leaving for the weekend. I though I still had a 5 quart jug of M1, but it turns out I had used it. My three other 5 quart jugs were almost empty too. Even my quarts stash was low.

So here's what it got:

1/2 quarts of Mobil 1 10w30(5 quart jug)
1/2 quart of Mobil 1 10w30(5 quart jug)
1-1/2 quarts of Chevron 10w30(5 quart jug)
1/2 quart of Chevron 10w30(5 quart jug)
1/2 quart of Havoline 10w30(1 quart bottle)
1 quart GC(the only bottle I've found so far)

How long should I leave it in. I guess I'm assuming it's safe.

Well Buckaroo, you've got a partial-synthetic or what we call in these parts, a "Blend."

Probably good for at least 5k.

I've done worse. Once had this in the wife's Aerostar after adding a little of this and that over a 4000 mile OCI (amounts adjusted for consumption and only approximate

):

2 qts Valvoline Durablend 5w30
2 qts Valvoline Maxlife 5w30
1/2 qt Citgo Superguard 10w40
10 oz Royal Purple 10w40
6 oz Rislone Engine Treatment concentrate

Ran fine. No more Rislone though, thanks to BITOG. But I am still a mixer (though not this bad anymore)--incurable!

Hey TP - Mix in 1 qt. dry vermouth, pour in a glass, add olive or onion, and that's pretty much what we drank in college on those "cold days."

Motorcraft 5w20 2.75qt.

Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 5w40 .75qt.

and 5oz starting dose of LC with 1oz per 1k miles

Will have a used oil analysis done in about 3 weeks.

Sorry couldn't resist. Run it 3K. Do an analysis to see if your engine exploded.
