I got polled by BP about two months ago for a similar BP card program as the Shell, they even paid me $40 for taking a online discussion on what rewards program would be the most popular. I never heard anymore about it, they said it would be avaiable in October on my BP card, might not happen if they are bankrupt by then.

I like the Chase BP MasterCard program as well. It doesn't rebate back to the card, but I can order $25 BP cards when my 5% rebate hits $25 in value.

I give those to my step son, rather than giving him a real live credit card.

I'm probably sitting on over $100 in gasoline rebates of one type or another right now. I have a $75 Shell card from Discover in addition to the $50 on the Shell Loyalty MasterCard. Not to mention how much is left on the other $75 card I gave him earlier this month.

No I didn't spend it. Seems Shell's partner, Springbok Services filed a chapter 11 action in the past week or so.

Note to self, spend rebates INSTANTLY!

I'm getting 20% for providing the date, time, auth#, approval# and the amount of my MasterCard transactions buying Shell gas.

I'm using my Citi Shell MasterCard which provides the other 5% as a rebate back to the account.

So far, $50 has been loaded onto the debit loyalty card.

I was skeptical, but they don't request the account number, so they must be looking at the transactions from the Shell side and providing the rebate via the debit card.

Same problem here - Springbok went bankrupt and stopped issuing the rebates about 3 weeks ago... too bad, since I'm currently owed around $55 in rebates. Here's hoping that Shell gets something out of Springbok in bankruptcy court.

I got a letter from Shell saying to keep submitting receipts. The last time I tried, the website was foobar. I simply gave up. My account says I have $15 now, the original. The first two weeks rebates disappeared, the third week was never credited. I've not submitted them for my fourth week which ended on July 4th.

(I missed the first two weeks of the promotion.)

Any news on this issue from Shell, seems like they should stand behind their own promotion. I submitted receipts for over $500 in fuel, but I am stuck on $50 which I better spend quickly, if its even still there.

I just got an $80 gift card to replace the card originally issued by Springbok. I think I'll go spend it right away so it doesn't get away.

It's a Debit MasterCard from MetaBank. I'll let the BITOG crowd know if it works or not.
