Interested in locking gas price now?

Wonder how far reaching they are...i.e. if I buy enough today to last me for the next 44 years, will they still keep them for me even if the wells dry up ?

^^^That's what I would be afraid of. But I must say it's nice to have my gas bill go from almost 40 bucks a week to under 20. If only the prices would stay like they are right now.

Hand me some money now, and I'll hand you back something later....
Except for banks and retirement contributions, I generally would avoid this financial strategy.

NYMEX gasoline futures prices have risen 40 cents/gallon in the last couple of weeks.

The paper today said this is the result of the Israel-Gaza affair. I find the paper is usually correct about finding the root cause of changes in the gas price.

It's not even that good... Notice the trick phrase in the following......

Quote:
When you are ready to fill up your vehicle, you will be able to visit any of the participating filling stations. Using a MyGallons Card is as easy as using a debit card and will be accepted at virtually all stations that accept credit cards once the new payment network is in place.

Did you find it?

"Q Is my pre-purchase of gas from MyGallons safe? Will my gas be there when I need it?

A Your pre-purchases of gas are safe and secure with MyGallons. Over 80% of your pre-purchase amount is placed in an escrow account and invested in money markets and U.S. Government backed notes. The remaining balance is utilized for financial transactions to accomodate for gasoline price changes."

My money market accounts are not paying squat right now.

If this is not a take the money and run scam, then these people obviously believe there will be no significant increases in the cost of gasoline in the next several years. They could very well be right, but anybody can put their money in a MM account - you don't need these guys to do it for you.

My wholesale price of crummy generic 87 AKI ( I wouldn't put this junk in my cars ) is up $0.250 since New Years eve. This is just the price increase from upper thirties to upper forties / bbl working its way through the system.

Whoops, will go up another $0.0075 at noon today.

Is "once" the key word here?

For a system that actually works, check out:

http://www.firstfuelbank.com/

A setup thats been running for years up in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Only six locations to fuel at, but its worked.

Current "Bank" price is around $2.35ish a gallon, not the cheapest compared to the cash spot price of $1.79ish at the moment.

I think I will invest with Bernard Madoff.
