I decided in the past few weeks to go ahead and install Leopard (Mac OS 10.5) on my iMac. There were some scary minutes when there was a blue screen and I thought I was going to have trouble. But I waited and Leopard came up and has been running quite well. I was able to install Boot Camp and run Windows XP pretty easily. There is now a Boot Camp Assistant to help make installing Windows XP much easier. I suppose you could install Vista if you wanted but Vista takes up too much hard drive space. I figure it is better to just run Windows XP since it is a secondary O/S anyway. And Windows XP has very good software compatibility.
My iMac is starting to get old and occasionally I think about getting a new iMac. But I have heard of some issues with the new keyboard and new displays so I will stick to my old iMac for now.
I downloaded the Apple updates for Leopard. They were huge. Leopard is running quite well. I am pretty happy with it but I am going to stay away from Time Machine for quite a while.
