Replacing the lower control arms, inner and outer tie rod ends on my latest $500 car a 2006 Nissan Altima. Clearance is pretty tough without a lift. Wondering if I can tie wrap the inner tie rod boots instead of dealing with the metal crimp clamps or whatever they are called.

Looseness that seems like the inner ends can be the rack itself. Replacing the whole rack gets you those parts already assembled.

You can but you need a very strong tie or a stainless one. I would coat the inside of the boot where it attaches to the rack with non hardening sealer then tighten the tie. Use a spring clamp on the smaller outer part of the boot.
You need to make it is 100% water tight, nothing will ruin a rack faster than rust.
