Injector issues are showing up in Europe for the Toyota M20A Engine

Hey all,
I've been researching a possible replacement for my current (and great) CT200h. Looking at one of these Corollas with either 1.8 (old 2ZR) or 2.0 (M20A) or a UX with the same 2.0.
There seems to be an issue with the M20A engine, at least in Europe. I'm seeing reports of people having to change their port injectors at 20-30k internals due to unusual trepidation/shuddering/missfire at 1500-2000rpm. I even encountered an issue with a UX owner having to change his port injectors (under warranty, of course) at 16000 miles.

Are there any similar reports for the 2.0 engine in the US? I'm sure the Corollas sell like flies in the US as well.

I initially thought it could be the ethanol in the fuel since E10 is mandatory on regular gas in Europe, but it seems that 98% of the sold gas seems to be US is 10% ethanol as well (according to google, at least).

I'm thinking about:
- Fuel quality issues in the UK?
- OCI but with port injectors failing at 20-30k, it shouldn't have to do anything with OCI.
- Overthinking it? (hehe)
- Also Toyota seems to have made their injector cleaner mandatory in the last few months on the 2.0 engine?

Bad QC I imagine. The 341k port injectors in my yukon are still original and work like new and I never used any fuel system additive and I buy 87 from costco or walmart 90% of the time. Can't be hard to make port injectors last at least a half million miles.

An interesting point, but bad QC in the UK and Japan? As the UK Corolla is made in the UK and the UX is made in Japan.
Also, this issue seems to affect only the still-new (2017+) dynamic force engine.
