Hope this is the correct section to post. Mods go ahead and move if necessary.

My question has to do with using data from a VOA to help decipher a used oil analysis. Before filling with Redline 5W30 I had a VOA done which showed 14ppm of silicon. After my used oil analysis on the batch used for the VOA, my silicon went up to 23ppm. It had been trending down. Previous oil was Mobil 1 5W30SS. There was also a trace of insolubes found in the VOA. The car was run the same and had the same cold air intake setup. Can I assume that the silicon is still trending down but went up a bit due to the silicon present in the virgin oil? I seriously doubt I contaminated the VOA sample because it went directly from a carefully opened bottle into a clean sample container.
