Looking on-line for oil filters for my '02 I35, I have run into a question. I have found several different filters listed as oem type. They are W0133-1641073, W0133-1800054, W0133-1834077. What is the difference in these filters? The manufacturers are either FULL or NPN; are these decent filters?

Got a suggestion for you.

Don't bother with the Nissan filters, I used Wix exclusively on my 3.5L and my fathers 3.0L, they're cheaper.

My actual suggestion though, look into getting the VQ30 filter for your 3.5... It's larger, and its the exact same otherwise as the smaller 3.5L filter.

I always ran the 3L filters on my 3.5 because of their extra media size.

Those aren't actual part numbers. Those are product IDs for autopartswarehouse.com or one of their other websites. The FULL and NPN filters they list are OE REPLACEMENT aftermarket products, not genuine Nissan oil filters. When that particular website has a genuine OE part they will list it as "OES", but it doesn't look like they carry genuine OE for Nissan/Infiniti.

The part # for a genuine Nissan oil filter applicable to the 2002 Infiniti I35 is 15208-65F00. http://www.mynismo.com/products/Default.asp?id=2404

Many dealer serviced Nissan/Infiniti engines I see come with a Made In China filter.

Because of that, I would never bother buying a dealership filter.

We live in a global economy. The Purolator air filter I just bought says "Made in China".

Purolater: An American company, owned by A German company, making filters in China.

Now all you need is a technical help department in India.

[censored]....prover it! Show us the box or the Purolator filter that says 'Made in China'. A picture would be great.

Puro's are made in the good ol' USA.

Wow. Sure thing buddy. I'm home from this business trip on March 2nd. You can expect pictures shortly after. I have no reason to lie. In the meantime go look up the Purolator A35266 on there website. If you zoom in on the picture you can see it there too. "Made in China"

Most of their filters are made in the US, but not all.

Purolator does not make everything in the States, very few air filters are made here. Last fram or stp that said america on it that I saw was like 4 years ago.

I just checked the Prolator website and the A35266. I saw the picture and it does not show 'made in China' So you'll have to take a pic of your 'made in China' (when you get back from your business trip).

By the way, that A35266 is an air filter....we were talking about OIL FILTERS....Just checked my stash of Purolator PureOnes, and they are all made in the U.S.

My Purolator air filter that I have in my car right now with a manufacture date of 1998 is made in S. Korea, as was the Napa Gold I replaced before this, and the other Napa Gold in my stash ready for my next air filter change.

Oregoonian,

I never said it was an oil filter. I just mentioned that not all Purolator products are made in the USA and gave an example. And if you blow up the picture of the air filter in question on their website in a graphics program you can see where its made. China.

I'm not sure why this is so unbelievable, but I certainly will post pictures when I am home again.

Purolator air filters are made by Clarcor, as Baldwin, etc. I think Bosch just bought the oil filter business. I think there are 3 different companies, oil filters, industrial and air filters, and the courier business. I wonder if the air filter company is allowed to import oil filters from china?

Maybe I need to nib around my Pronto jobber since I hear that Pronto filters are now made Purolator in China. The one on my truck was made in Nebraska by Hastings.
