i don't normally complain about people's parking because I don't walk through a parking lot and judge other people then feel the need to post about it on an internet forum, but... I'll confess to bashing the &@!$ out of someones car that once parked so close to me that I had to enter through the drivers side. I was driving a beater. And I was having a bad day. There were plenty of other spots in the lot, it was late at night. I beat that car with all the force I could muster in the 3 inches they gave me the entire length of the car.

Well, it's been a tough year for me...
Someone not only managed find my car way out in the parking lot, but also managed to hit hard enough to move it almost into another car two spots away.
We were at Meijers way out in the lot as well when some doored my wife's car hard. The rub strip had a big dent on it...
People flat out don't care...

My FXT got christened with a big door ding when I had owned it for less than a week. I was getting the car detailed after an encounter with a fallen tree branch hidden by the side of a rural road and the shop owner mentioned they couldn't do much about the ding, and I told him that happened a a few days after I got the car...he said that there will always be a jerk who is resentful of a shiny, new car and do something to it.
My RAV4 got door slammed twice when I was sitting in it at a strip mall...thing was, the van next to me belonged to a guy who was dealing with a maybe 4 year old and baby by himself. The older kid just wouldn't stop messing with the door while dad was putting the baby in its seat, I think he was worried I might beat him up after the second slam and I just told him I understood what small kids were like and moved my car away.
The non-contact parking issue that really gets my goat is when drivers of huge extended-cab, full bed pickups pull in next to me at an angle and effectively block me into my spot because the tail end of their monstrosity sticks out feet past and behind the back of my little SUV. Seems to happen in Dunks lots all the time...I'm sure it's some sort of passive-aggressive compensation thing because the drivers I have caught doing this were nasty old coots or pint sized wimps.
The absolute best was when a coworker got hung up on my RAV4 while backing out and gave me with deep scratches and a flat tire, then drove off. I came out on a tight Friday night schedule to take my daughter to practice and then head up to ski to find that I had to change a flat in the cold and dark...still got it done and went skiing.

I park a good ways away from other vehicles for just this reason, especially if I can find a shady spot. You'd think the morons here in this heat-stunned climate would go straight for the shade, but they rarely do -- and rarely put up windshield sunshades, or use their garages for their vehicles when they're at home.
As for the carts, I must be the only one around here who returns his cart to the corral, or leaves the cart in the store and carries his loaded plastic bags to the car.

I'm somewhat handicapped and have a parking tag. Since I'm not that incapacipated I park at one of the spaces further from the stores but I can swing my door out to get out and also not (usually) have to worry about others hitting my truck. I always return my cart. Hate it when others don't. Some at least push them up to the light poles etc, others just push them off into the next space.

The shopping center that I frequent has a small dirt area that nobody dares park in. That's where I park. Then I have to go inside and deal with the traffic in the store.
The Kia is my wife's car. It get's driven pretty much only on her work commute.
Around here DD cars start to rot up after ten years or so. You can keep putting parts into them but if you drive them regularly you can't stop them from rotting. At least I haven't figured out how. Nothing lasts forever.

Try oil coating. It'll still rot, but slower. Plus, while body work looks awful when you patch it, as long as the brake lines and floorboards etc are safe, then you are good to go.
Plus once you start putting in patch panels you'll find that nice cars no longer park so close to you.

I had an old Impala with a huge dent in the left front fender and I noticed that people on my driver's side were very eager to let me into line when leaving the train station parking lot.
